Sri Kaleshwar Swami & Search Engine Oddities

Good day, my Imaginary Readers. I don’t know if those of you who wander by on a more regular basis have noticed the stuff over in the right-hand column. You’ll see little lozenge-sized icons and a site hit-counter and so on — but lower down is a thing called MapStats, which has a list of the last 15 locations to have visited this humble blog.

First, please know that your privacy is in no way being compromised by this tracking. All I ever find out is that, for instance, an anonymous somebody in Redmond Washington happened to stop by and read my latest rant about the Bush Administration or perhaps checked out the poem I just wrote. I decided to start using the service mainly because I wanted to find out what people were reading on my blog, and try to write more of whatever’s bringing the traffic.

So far, the most popular topics seem to have been the aforementioned opinion pieces, my essays on writing and creativity, the occasional technogeek product review, and a few others. One oddity is just how often my post from last September, the recipe for Chicken Dijonaise, shows up in the search-link hits. A couple times a week, lately. (It’s a really great and easy recipe. Someday, I’ll post my recipe for vegetarian french onion soup. Absolutely killer.)

Another though I’ve seen roughly once a week for the last month is the search term kaleshwar fake.

This one really puzzles me, because even my own Google search turns up virtually nothing, except for one really weird case in India where it looked like the government was trying to slander the guy. Accusing him of fraud and so on. The charges were later found to be utterly baseless and without merit or truth.

Okay. Time to do my thing. Here’s another post for the seach engines to find, over time, because this one’s just loaded with relevant keywords. (Just like the way if you put ‘Miserable Failure’ into Google and then hit “I’m Feeling lucky”, it produces a link directly to George Bush’s biography on the White House website. Heh.)

As far as I can tell, Sri Kaleshwar Swami, the ‘living saint’ of Penukonda, is no fake. Mind, this is a purely subjective judgment, but even back in November when I first encountered him San Francisco during his brief visit to America, I left with the impression he was “the real deal.” Not precisely for me, but no fraud, charletain, or scammer.

I’ve changed my mind so far only with respect to giving his teachings a more honest and earnest try. (Mainly due to the intense spiritual experiences I had several days later at a special event at the Divine Assistants International temple in Laytonville, which included a private consultation with Swami. Detailed post about that HERE.) For anybody who’s read my blog, a number of peculiar things have happened to me over the last six months or so, and if not for the equanimity and peace afforded by the meditation techniques I’ve been learning, I think I might’ve gone crazy. Or crazier than I already am. (I leave that judgment up to you.)

So anyway, those of you who may hit on this post by way of a web search on “kaleshwar fake” — I’m afraid you won’t find what you’re looking for here. I don’t believe he is a fake. He really is a miracle guy.

Do I know precisely what he is, really? Nope. There’s something truly extraordinary about that young man though. All I can say is I’m curious enough to want to learn more — with my analytical mind and healthy skepticism along for the ride. I take nothing at face value, and promise you all never to lose track of that.
