Photographic/Artistic Experimentation
Sometimes a picture just begs to be played with
in Photoshop, and there are some powerful tools in there for really
messing with an ordinary photograph.
A few of these are variants on photos seen
elsewhere in the gallery, and some are just pure happenstance.
Of the latter variety, for instance, I was
sitting by our back yard pond not long ago when I saw the most amazing
(and psychedelic) rippling pattern created by reflections on the water.
The sun was hitting the deer fencing just right, and although the
pictures didn't do the motion justice, I found that by turning the shots
into 'paintings' I was able to capture some of the essence.
Hope you enjoy!

Yosemite - Lake Siesta: Mostly just playing with colors and color replacement, although I did quite a bit of manipulation using the Color Curves |

Yosemite - Valley and Half Dome: I lost track of all the things I did to this picture. Mostly I was aiming for an alien landscape. |

Serenity Pond (our name for our place, and the pond here): This photo, I tried to turn into an impressionistic watercolor. |
