Becca's Sayings

(With apologies to those from whom I stole some of these aphorisms, where applicable.)

  • Nothing is writ in stone.

  • There are always options. Always.

  • If you don't think you have any choices, you aren't looking hard enough or deliberately overlooking the ones already there.

  • Impossible? Look again. It might not be. In fact, it probably isn’t.

  • Question your assumptions, all of them, from time to time.

  • Love is not a limited resource. It doesn't run out nor can it be used up.

  • Love can, however, die of neglect, inattention, betrayal, or deliberate malice.

  • Good friends are the family you get to choose.

  • Life is too short to be unhappy.

  • When things look bad, remember to ask yourself, 'What's the worst that can happen?'

  • Always hope for the best, plan for the worst, and lay in extra supplies just in case you're really wrong.

  • Everyone has to believe in something. I believe I'll have another cookie.

  • Remember to smile. Doing so is contagious.

  • Be extra nice towards those who have wronged you. It'll drive 'em crazy.

  • Meet the eyes of everyone you encounter. You'll make an impression.

  • Everybody needs hugs.

  • Nothing beats a good cuddle every now and then.

  • Never go to bed angry.

  • I haven't had my coffee yet. Don't make me kill you.

  • Chocolate is proof that God is female.

  • Estrogen and testosterone are further proof of God's feminine gender. And Her sense of humor.

  • Sometimes people don't really want to be helped. They just want to bitch about their problems for a while. Let them. For a while.

  • If you're angry towards someone who has been taking advantage of you, ask yourself first why you've been letting them do it.

  • The singular identifying characteristic of fanatics, religious zealots, and bullies is an utter lack of a sense of humor.

  • Listen to the rain.

  • The ears and tummies of dogs are there to be rubbed. They'll handle the tail-wagging part.

  • Everything should be done in moderation. Including moderation.

  • Pay attention to your dreams. They're trying to tell you something.

  • Everyone needs to make mud-pies once in a while.

  • Have you ever really stopped to smell the flowers? Try it sometime it'll change your entire day. Make it a habit and you'll change your life.
